Location

20 S. Clark St, Suite 420, Chicago, IL 60603

Description

This event is for lawyers only.

SBAC Member and divorce attorney Mark Schondorf of Hecht Schondorf will lead the CLE course "Is the Alimony Deduction Really Gone?" for 1 hour of CLE credit. The 2018 Tax Cut and Jobs Act took away the ability to deduct spousal support (alimony) from your taxes after 2018. But is it really gone? Schondorf discusses how the tax deduction is still available for ongoing divorce cases, newly filed divorce cases, and modifications of old divorce cases. This is a must for any tax, business, or family law focused attorneys.

Mark Schondorf is a partner at Hecht Schondorf, LLC in Northbrook, Illinois. His practice focuses exclusively on family and matrimonial law matters, and his clientele consists largely of business and real estate owners. He has negotiated or tried numerous divorce and matrimonial cases with unique business or real estate issues, as well as drafted premarital agreements with similar issues. Further, he has presented CLE courses to the Chicago Bar Association on numerous occasions on divorce and matrimonial law issues.
