The presentation is intended to assist attorneys whose business clients are either experiencing financial distress or dealing with customers or vendors in financial distress.

Erich Buck is a partner and shareholder at Adelman & Gettleman, Ltd., where he represents corporate and individual debtors and creditors in all aspects of insolvency and bankruptcy, including workouts, assignments for the benefit of creditors, asset sales and purchases, liquidations, reorganizations and bankruptcy litigation. Erich has represented clients in a wide array of industries, most recently representing chapter 11 debtors in information technology, retail and manufacturing.

Erich is a 1997 graduate of Northwestern University and a 2001 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law. While attending the University of Iowa, he served as Managing Editor of the Journal of Gender, Race & Justice. Upon graduating law school, Erich served two years as law clerk to the Honorable Carol A. Doyle of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Prior to joining Adelman & Gettleman, Erich was an associate at Reed Smith LLP (formerly Sachnoff & Weaver, Ltd.), where his practice focused primarily on creditors’ rights litigation.

Having previously been named a “Rising Star” in the Illinois Super Lawyers publication and an “Emerging Lawyer” in the Leading Lawyers publication, Erich most recently was named a “Leading Lawyer” in the Leading Lawyers publication. He has co-authored articles published in the Journal for Corporate Renewal and the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal. In November 2016, Erich participated in a CLE program sponsored by the Chicago Bar Association entitled “Commercial Bankruptcy Law: Current Trends and Cases,” in which he served on a panel addressing various issues confronting practitioners in involuntary bankruptcy cases. Erich is a past member and co-chair of the Bankruptcy Court Liaison Committee for the Northern District of Illinois.
