Western Suburbs Chapter Events
Wendy Lalli will be speaking on “The Nuances of Networking” or “Insider Tips for Awkward Networkers.” She started her career at a major ad agency in NYC working as a junior copywriter on national accounts. Her experience includes a partnership in an award-winning boutique ad shop, marketing writer for several corporations, a stint as a recruiter for a staffing agency and several years as an outplacement counselor. She’s had her own consulting company, Wendy Lalli, Ltd., since 1997 helping businesses in almost every industry market themselves and job hunters in almost every profession transition into new positions. She’s written dozens of articles on job search for the Chicago Tribune, an advice column for entrepreneurs that ran in 25 local papers, taught classes in career development at Columbia College and given hundreds of presentations on networking, interviewing and resume writing at libraries, universities and professional associations. She knows that great networking comes down to three key points: (1) caring about others, (2) finding your own comfort zone and (3) understanding that connecting to people is a way of life, not a short-term commitment.
