Western Suburbs Member Breakfast

05/02/2019 7:30 AM - 8:30 AM CT

May's speaker will be Edward Dryer, Senior Technology Strategist at Steadfast.

With 22 years of experience in the technology world, Ed’s specialty is turning the 'impossible' into 'the new standard'. When he's not building solutions for you and your clients, he spend his time geeking out over games of all types and teaching his three kids the difference between Star Wars and Star Trek.

Ed says that making a digital transformation to the cloud can be scary. Studies have shown that by 2020, 78 percent of small businesses will be taking advantage of cloud computing. The barriers for many, however, are concerns around security, maintenance and costs, particularly for those who don’t have a dedicated IT person to manage it all.

If your business shares these concerns, or if you need help understanding how to maximize cloud technologies to strengthen your business, be sure to come to our next meeting on May 2. SBAC member, Steadfast, has agreed to bring their cloud expert, Edward Dryer, to speak to consult with the group on key topics we should be aware of, including:

1. Defining "cloud” – what is really is and how it works

2. The KEY cloud advantages that SMBs should be considering to be competitive

3. Debunking common concerns – security, costs, control, and more

4. Skills sets you need to use cloud in your operations

5. Pros and cons of cloud service providers

If you attend, we encourage you to also BRING someone that works on, or is responsible for, your IT service as your guest, so that we can have an engaging conversation about what technologies you are using and share ideas or strategies for possible improvement.
