Join the SBAC on May 9th to have your voice heard during this critical time in Springfield. Illinois' unprecedented budget impasse is devastating small businesses, universities, non-profits and Illinois residents. Without a budget for two years, legislators are receiving a lot of pressure to pass a budget before the session ends in May.
During our Springfield trip, we will focus on pushing legislators to pass a responsible budget. In addition to ending the budget impasse, the SBAC will advocate for lowering LLC fees, workers' compensation reform, allowing restaurant to serve alcohol within 100 ft of a church and other initiatives to empower small businesses and spark economic growth.
In Springfield, we will meet with various legislators in the House and Senate from both sides of the aisle, along with Governor Bruce Rauner, Lt. Governor Evelyn Sanguinetti, the Secretary of State's Office, the Department of Revenue and the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
SBAC Members: if would like to join us, please RSVP now! We will help coordinate transportation. If you have any questions, please email Advocady Director Ryan Tolley at firstname.lastname@example.org.
